Transfer negotiations in professional football are often fraught with uncertainty and changes of plans. In this regard, the report that claims that Jamal Musiala, the talented player of Bayern Munich, can become a “plan B” for Real Madrid if their attempt to sign Kylian Mbappé fails.
A report in the Sun suggests that Real Madrid management are preparing an alternative scenario in case Mbappé’s transfer fails to go through. Real Madrid obviously want Mbappé in the squad and want to secure another attacking move should their pursuit not end in success.
Jamal Musiala, who comes from Chelsea’s academy, has also been linked with a high rating by coach Carlo Ancelotti, increasing his attractiveness to Real Madrid. Musiala is 20 years old and has a contract with Bayern Munich until 2026, but has so far refused to extend his contract. He currently earns around £7m a year but is demanding three times that salary to stay at the Allianz Arena.
Musiala is a talented attacking midfielder and his skills on the pitch are versatile. His future is therefore bright and, being so young, he can be a key player in the coming seasons. Real Madrid would thus be looking to secure a replacement who could strengthen their attacking ranks if they fail in negotiations over the transfer of Kylian Mbappé.
Although the report does not contain official confirmation of Real Madrid’s interest in Jamal Musial, it does suggest that the big clubs have several alternative scenarios in their transfer plans to secure strong squads for the future. In this particular case, Musiala would be a prime example of such a plan B for Real Madrid should their pursuit of Mbappé fail.
