Almost 700k PPVs were sold for the fight in Riyadh between reigning heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former UFC MMA champion Francis Nganno!
The main duel of the gala evening in Saudi Arabia at the end of October was the duel between the undefeated reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and the former UFC heavyweight king Francis Nganno (0-1-0). A clear superiority of Fury was expected, but the fight took a completely different course. Already in the third round, Ngannou sent Fury into the count with a hard blow above the ear, and Fury had considerable problems.
The match was very balanced and Fury had a problem getting to the Cameroonian, he withstood all the combinations of the champion and, on the contrary, his hard punches with Fury faltered. In the end, the match came down to a points resolution, in which two of the three judges decided on a very narrow victory for the British boxer. Fury’s performance was one of the weakest in years.
The numbers of PPV sales have now been released, which sold almost 700 thousand. The highest PPV sales were recorded in Great Britain – 400 thousand, where the gala evening was broadcast by TNT Sports. Another 200,000 PPVs were sold by the streaming platform DAZN, which broadcast the evening globally. Only 65,000 PPVs were sold in the USA, however, it should be noted that the highest price was also in America, namely 90 US dollars.
