Slovak police have been investigating the circumstances of the death of a mother and her one-year-old daughter since Wednesday evening. Their bodies were discovered in the south of Slovakia in the village of Veľký Lom in the district of Veľký Krtíš. The cause of their death is not yet known and rescue services are on the scene, the Noviny.sk portal reported on Wednesday evening
The information of Slovak television TV JOJ was confirmed by the spokeswoman of the local police. “I can confirm that this evening we received information about the death of a one-year-old child and his mother. A team of criminologists from the criminal police department of the Regional Police Directorate in Banská Bystrica was sent to the scene,” said Petra Kováčiková, spokesperson for the Regional Police Directorate in Banská Bystrica.
The Noviny.sk server, referring to TV JOJ information, said that this is another tragedy that has befallen this family this year. Some time ago, the partner of the dead woman and the father of the little girl committed suicide in his barn. According to TV JOJ, the woman’s body should have been found in the same place.
Slovak media reports that the police will release further information only after properly documenting this tragic event.
