The Handheld Steam Deck, designed especially for convenient gaming on the Steam platform, was released last February. Since then, it has won the hearts of many players not only with a favorable price/performance ratio, but also with exemplary care on the part of Valve.
Of course, players are already speculating about a successor, which according to Valve is not on the agenda for now. Nevertheless, everyone was surprised by the improved version, which relies on a larger OLED panel. However, the beautiful display for more expressive colors is not the only novelty.
The new version promises thirty to fifty percent better endurance, thanks to a larger battery and lower display consumption. The new panel is thirty grams lighter than the original LCD. The new Steam Deck also has improved cooling (so the device heats up less), faster memory and Wi-Fi 6E. The result is a slight increase in performance in games, according to the Digital Foundry test. And all this while maintaining a favorable price.
At the same time, Valve revised the offer and removed the original 64 GB base model (LCD) as well as the 512 GB variant (LCD) from sale. Both models are discounted while supplies last. The new offer starts at 256 GB (LCD) for 419 euros (roughly 10,250 crowns), continues with 512 GB (OLED) for 569 euros (roughly 13,920 crowns) and ends with 1 TB (OLED) for 679 euros (roughly 16,610 crowns) . In some regions, the limiter of the highest model is still available in a different body (Europe is not among them).
OLED models will be available from November 16 at 19:00.
