At the end of November, a narrative pictorial monograph will arrive on bookstore shelves Live – Karel Svoboda. In it, the complicated fate of the famous composer was processed in a unique way by his son Petr Svoboda, who also accompanied his memories with dozens of unique photographs. Many of these images are being published for the first time. In addition to Petr Svoboda, the book recalls the brilliant, albeit idiosyncratic artist, a host of other personalities, whose funny, loving, but also nostalgic stories perfectly complete the image of Karel Svoboda.

Karel Svoboda – a god-gifted composer, a tireless hitmaker who was able to conquer the world with his music. He left behind hundreds of wonderful songs, many of which are still loved today: Lady Carnival, Despatch, Maya the Bee, Hi, love… He composed music for dozens of films and series in our country and abroad: Three nuts for Cinderella, Visitors, Circus Humberto… And he also became famous for his musically and visually captivating musicals led by Dracula.

Comprehensive pictorial monograph Live represents Karel Svoboda as a person completely dedicated to his work, who at the same time was able to enjoy life to the fullest and didn’t spoil any fun. It reveals many interesting facts about his life, childhood, journey to the top, about a happy family background and an extremely sad end. It tells about the complex creation of Karl’s recording studio and the reconstruction of the villa in Jevany, where he built his private paradise and creative space, about the parties that ended until the wee hours of the morning, about the never-ending problems of creating on two sides of the iron curtain, and about the obsession with composing music, which was an indisputable purpose his life.
