Actors Vojtěch Bartoš, Kryštof Bartoš, Jindřiška Dudziaková, Jakub Jelínek, Marie Machová and Jakub Müller with the same as in the project Climax transformed into night club visitors. They walked among the guests, who could move freely in the divided spaces, and, following the pattern of drug dealers, they distributed bags with the names of the laureates. This was followed by the public announcement of the winners in all eight categories and the presentation of prizes – a graphic sheet and a diploma made by an artist Aleš Fulína. Finally, the laureate of the special ninth Prize of the editors of Divadelní noviny was revealed. From 2021 onwards, the editors of Divadelní noviny will always award one exceptional achievement in the field of theater art, regardless of the jury’s decision. This year, they decided to honor the theater group Boundariesfor a long-term study of the possibilities of immersive theater and an exceptionally successful project Climax.
The prizes were awarded by a jury appointed by the editor-in-chief, consisting of DN editors, members of the DN Society, the editors of selected DN contributors and experts (arbiters) cooperating with the DN editors. The deliberations of the jury were two-round: in the first correspondence round, the jurors proposed a maximum of five acts in each category, the three acts with the highest number of votes in each category advanced to the second round by a simple sum of votes, the jury discussed them at the meeting on September 25, 2023 in the Small Hall of the IDU and determined the winner by voting.
The editors contacted 72 jurors to participate in the DN Awards, 35 jurors voted in the first correspondence round (Benoni Marcela, Boušová Veronika, Bulvasová Natálie, Dehner Jan, Dolenská Kateřina, Dubský Lukáš, Dvořáková Dita, Heribanová Iva, Herman Josef, Hrdinová Radmila, Hulec Vladimír, Jan Kerbr, Klár Petr, Lucie Kocourková, Jan Kolář, Ivanka Kubicová, Kykalová Kateřina, Landa Jiří, Lazorčáková Tatjana, Magdová Marcela, Macháček Martin, Malíková Nina, Mareček Luboš, Melichar Dominik, Mikulová Iva, Paterová Jana, Rathouská Kateřina, Reslová Marie, Sladkowski Marcel, Soprová Jana, Strejčková Hana, Šaldová Lenka, Tichý Zdeněk A., Vašek Roman, Voska Vojtěch, Zachatá Petra), in the second round after the debate on the nominees, 19 jurors voted (Boušová Veronika, Dubský Lukáš, Dvořáková Dita, Herman Josef, Hrdinová Radmila, Hulec Vladimír, Kolář Jan, Kykalová Kateřina, Lazorčáková Tatjana, Magdová Marcela, Malíková Nina, Pondelíčková Anežka, Rathouská Kateřina, Reslová Marie, Soprová Jana, Šaldová Lenka, Tichý Zdeněk A., Vašek Roman, Zachatá Petra) , the meeting was led by the editor-in-chief.
