The tragic death of a 14-year-old girl shook Poland. After she got sick, she sat for hours in the middle of the city in the winter without anyone noticing and helping her. Paramedics called later could not save her.
Poland solves the death of a 14-year-old girl from Andrichow, a city of about 20,000 approximately 50 kilometers east of Těšín. Right in its center, the clock froze due to the indifference of passers-by. The local prosecutor’s office is also dealing with the case.
According to the local website wadowice24.pl, the girl planned to head to the town of Kúty, just a few kilometers away, on Tuesday. But she did not arrive there. Instead, after a while, she called her father saying she was sick and didn’t know where he was. He therefore immediately contacted the police, who announced a search for her. Finally, she actually found her.
It turned out that the girl had been sitting outside a department store in the city center for several hours in the cold. But no one was interested in her for a long time. Only after long hours in freezing temperatures did one of the passers-by finally notice her. Realizing she was frostbitten, he took her to the warmth inside the store and called an ambulance.
But it was too late to save her. “I confirm that the girl has died. We are not providing any further information on this matter at this time,” informed Barbara Szczerbová from the Regional Police Directorate in Krakow.
According to the Rzeczpospolita website, the case is being handled by the Wadowice District Prosecutor’s Office. The tragedy also became a topic for the residents Andrichovawho now gather at the store and light candles there.
