You wouldn’t say how much of a ruckus the penny price would cause. And at the same time, this is actually nothing new. Try to check your receipts or invoices from last year and you might find that we were “confused” and “cheated” last year as well.
I opened my account with the invoices of an online store where you choose a purchase and they bring it. Most of the items were XX.90 and I couldn’t find a single one that ended in whole crowns. Even fruits and vegetables sold by the piece were priced in XX.52 format. Unreal! One apple for 4.22 and one onion for 2.72. Why wasn’t it a nationwide hype at the time?
It was food. I tried opening one more electronics store and found penny items there too. These were items for which a certain percentage discount was announced, which is actually the argument of the chains that defend the current situation. I was billed 448.99 for the charger and 113.65 for the small car. I should have paid 825.44 together with other items. The world is surprised, but there was also a rounding item of -0.44 on the invoice, which made this purchase cheaper for me to a beautiful and round 825 crowns.
So much for checking invoices from last year. Nevertheless, I will not forgive myself one more remark. How about gasoline and diesel? Somehow I didn’t notice that these items always cost whole crowns, but their price decreased or increased by ten halers.
So why are we suddenly surprised now when it has been working for several years?
