1) Athens International Airport shares will start trading on the stock exchange next week. Interest in the initial public offering (IPO), Greece’s largest since the 2010-2018 debt crisis, is high among investors, with demand significantly outstripping supply. The price was thus set at the upper end of the planned range, the Greek privatization agency HRADF announced today. The government is offering 30 percent of the airport’s shares in the offer.

2) The net profit of Moneta Money Bank was 5.2 billion crowns last year and rose by 0.3 percent year-on-year. The management of the bank proposes a dividend of nine crowns per share, which represents 88 percent of the consolidated net profit for last year. The bank stated this in a press release. Moneta Money Bank is one of the largest companies traded on the Prague Stock Exchange. The largest shareholder of Moneta is the PPF financial group.

3) The US economy added about 353,000 jobs in January, much more than expected. The unemployment rate then remained at 3.7 percent, where it has been since November. Wages have also increased significantly. The US Department of Labor stated this in its report today. It also turned out that in December, after the data was refined, many more places were created than originally reported.

4) The American Internet company Meta Platforms tripled its net profit in the fourth quarter to more than 14 billion dollars (roughly 320 billion CZK) from 4.7 billion dollars a year ago. The company also announced in today’s press release that it will pay a dividend to shareholders for the first time in its history. The company’s shares reacted to the news with significant growth, shortly after its publication, they gained roughly 15 percent.

5) The volume of cryptocurrency transactions in January remained roughly at the December level of 350 million crowns. Year-on-year, it was approximately one-sixth higher. Interest was mainly focused on bitcoin and ethereum. Today, ČTK was informed by Bit.plus.
