Another serious accident, six people were injured on the spot and a child of preschool age had to be resuscitated

Today before four o’clock in the afternoon, there was another traffic accident involving two passenger vehicles on road No. 19, this time near Vlkov, and unfortunately it was a very serious accident.

A head-on collision between vehicles with serious injuries to several people, including a child, was reported from the scene, so all emergency services went to the accident again.

The rescuers, together with the firemen, took care of six injured people on the spot, when resuscitation of a child aged less than five years was necessary. Firefighters further secured the scene of the accident, carried out fire prevention measures and disposed of leaking operating fluids.

“The rescuers dealt with the incident in mass casualty mode, so a total of five of our vehicles responded to the scene. There were six injured people, including one child. Four middle-aged men suffered moderate injuries, three were transported to the emergency department of the Pilsen Lochotín University Hospital and one to Bory University Hospital.A middle-aged woman was then transported to Lochotín University Hospital with minor injuries.
After cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, the rescuers managed to restore the child’s vital functions after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and he was transported to the Emergency Faculty Hospital Plzeň Lochotín in a critical condition. the spokesperson for the rescuers told us

The police are investigating the accident at the scene, we are waiting for their report and will, of course, supplement it once we receive it.

According to witnesses, the accident should have occurred when the driver of the BMW was driving towards Vlkov, according to his words, he probably fell asleep, drove in the opposite direction and hit the Audi car head-on. This man was also the only one to escape without injury.

Undoubtedly, a big thank you goes to the paramedic or paramedic who happened to be passing by on his day off, stopped at the accident, started organizing rescue work and attended to the injured child himself.

Three people in a BMW born in 1993, 2001, 1976 and three people in an Audi born in 1994, 2018 and 1998 were injured in the traffic accident.
The breath test performed on the BMW driver was negative, the Audi driver could not be tested due to his injuries, and a blood sample was therefore ordered to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol while driving.” the police spokeswoman added, adding that the case was taken over on the spot by criminal investigators from the Plzeň – Rural Department, who continue to investigate the cause and other circumstances of the accident.

Communication was completely closed for the duration of the rescue work.
