436,000 crowns were fined for traffic offenses in Vysočina on Easter. “Eleven offenses could not be resolved on the spot, the police will hand them over to the administrative body for resolution.
The most common offense was speeding. In 98 cases, it concerned driving in the village. For three very high speeding violations, the police confiscated the driver’s license on the spot,” said police spokeswoman Dana Čírtková.
The police officers focused on checking compliance with the maximum permitted speed, the drivers had to undergo a test for alcohol and other addictive substances, the law enforcement officers were interested in the technical condition of the vehicles, including whether the drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts and whether they were not using the phone while driving. According to Dana Čírtková, the discipline of the drivers was comparable to previous years
This year’s Easter in the Czech Republic was one of the most tragic in the last year. The police in Vysočina also went to the tragic traffic accident on Sunday evening before 8 p.m. “On the first-class road between the villages of Jitkov and Ždírec nad Doubravou, a two- and forty-year-old motorcyclist lost control and while passing a curve with his motorcycle fell onto the road and collided with an oncoming vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries from which he died on the spot,” added Dana Čírtková.
