1) Trading in the shares of the construction company Country Garden was suspended on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange today. The company had previously postponed the publication of economic results for the year 2023. This violated the rules of the stock exchange. Country Garden, which was previously the largest builder in China in terms of the number of apartments sold, said this in a statement today.

2) Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which includes the Truth Social social network, reported a net loss of $58.2 million (roughly CZK 1.4 billion) last year. The company, whose majority owner is former US President Donald Trump, announced this in a report to stock exchange regulators yesterday. Its shares subsequently weakened sharply.

3) Tesla reports that it delivered 386,810 cars in 1Q, compared to expectations of 449,080. The company’s shares are down 6.3 percent in the premarket.

4) Shares of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi surged after the company launched its first electric car, the SU7. Shares of Xiaomi closed today’s trading with a nine percent increase, the market value of the company thus increased by about four billion dollars (94 billion CZK), Reuters wrote.

5) Bernard Arnault is again the richest person in the world this year, according to Forbes magazine. The newspaper estimated the assets of the owner of the company selling luxury goods LVMH at 233 billion dollars (5.5 trillion CZK). That’s $22 billion more than the Frenchman had last year, according to Forbes. The second richest person is, like last year, Tesla founder Elon Musk with $195 billion, followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with $194 billion.
