“The operations officer immediately dispatched five fire units to the scene. After arriving at the scene of the reported accident, they confirmed the collision of two passenger vehicles. Four people were traveling in one. Firefighters extricated three of them from the vehicle on a spinal board. The fourth person was already out of the vehicle. The driver was driving alone in the second car,” explained regional fire department spokeswoman Lucie Javoříková.

Despite first aid and resuscitation attempts, the passenger succumbed to her injuries. According to the spokeswoman for the Zlín Region Medical Rescue Service, Gabriela Netopilová Sluštíková, her injuries were incompatible with life. Another seriously injured person was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Brno.

A rescue helicopter also assisted in the accident.

“We had four crews on site, including one with a doctor. We transferred two patients to the emergency department at the Zlín hospital, another to surgery at the Uherskohradišťská hospital,” said the spokeswoman of the regional ambulance service.

According to police spokesman Radomír Šiška, the thirty-seven-year-old driver of a Škoda Octavia drove in the opposite direction in the direction of Uherské Hradiště for as yet undetermined reasons. “In it, she subsequently collided head-on with an oncoming Škoda Karoq vehicle. Her passenger succumbed to her injuries on the spot. The Octavia driver herself and two other passengers were injured. The driver of the karoq was also injured,” Šiška pointed out.
