Prague – Fuel prices continue to rise in the Czech Republic. A liter of the best-selling Natural 95 gasoline rose in price by an average of 28 halers over the past week and cost 40.40 crowns on Wednesday. The price of diesel has risen by three pennies, and a liter is sold on a national average for 39.22 crowns. This is according to data from CCS, which tracks prices. According to analysts, the increase in fuel prices in recent weeks is the result of rising oil prices.
Gasoline is now 2.71 crowns more expensive per liter than a year ago, while motorists paid 5.54 crowns less for diesel at that time. The price of gasoline rose above 40 crowns per liter last week, for the first time since last October. Diesel is now the most expensive since last November.
The cheapest gasoline is filled by drivers in the Ústí Region, where a liter costs 40.02 CZK on average. Diesel is the cheapest in the Hradec Králové region, a liter is sold there for an average of CZK 38.62. On the contrary, the most expensive fuels are traditionally offered by pumps in Prague, where a liter of gasoline costs an average of CZK 41.26. Diesel fuel costs CZK 40.26 per liter in the capital.
