One man dead, one with moderate injuries and a woman with multiple serious injuries who had to be airlifted to hospital. This is a very sad result of a serious traffic accident that happened on Sunday shortly before noon on the I/20 road in the direction from Karlovy Vary to Pilsen.

All components of the integrated rescue system went to the accident. The police officers on the spot directed the traffic in a shuttle manner.
“The driver, year 1953, Škoda Felicia, was driving along the I/20 road in the direction of travel from Karlovy Vary to Pilsen. About 500 meters after the turn to the village of Příšov, he drove in the opposite direction for reasons still unknown and collided head-on with an oncoming Škoda Octavia driven by a man from 1955,” she described the accident police spokesperson Michaela Raindlová. Unfortunately, the Felicia driver died on the spot. His passenger and the driver of the Octavia were taken care of by paramedics.

“The paramedics on the spot treated the driver, year 1955, who suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the Fn-Lochotín emergency department while conscious. The woman, born in 1957, suffered numerous serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to the emergency department of the university hospital in Lochotín,” she said rescuers spokesperson Mária Svobodová with the fact that the driver of the second car suffered very serious injuries incompatible with life and the doctor of the emergency service pronounced death on the spot.
As the police spokeswoman added, the injured driver was not breathalyzed for alcohol and a blood sample was ordered. An autopsy will be performed on the deceased driver. Criminal investigators from the Plzeň-Venkov regional department took over the case.
