Criminal investigators took over the investigation of the incident on the spot
This morning before nine o’clock in the morning, a person was hit by train EC 365 “Západní expres” on the railway line between Holýšov and Dolní Kamenice. Of course, all emergency services went to the scene immediately.
“I can confirm that we are responding to a collision between a train and a person. There were 66 adults, 7 children and 2 members of the train staff traveling on the train. One of the passengers had an epileptic seizure so he was taken over by paramedics,” a spokesman for the fire department told us.
Unfortunately, the person who was knocked down, apparently a woman, according to information from the scene, suffered extensive devastating injuries, so any effort to save her was unfortunately in vain and the doctor of the emergency service had to declare her dead.
Rescuers took care of a passenger from the train, a woman born in 1977 with an acute stress reaction, who was transported to the hospital in Stod after being treated on the spot.
Firefighters helped remove passengers from the train, while police cordoned off the area where the tragic incident took place. The coroner was called to the scene to examine the body, the criminal police, the railway inspection and specialists from the Drone SIT were called to accurately target and document the area.
Traffic on the international route 180 from Pilsen to Furth im Wald and Munich was stopped and a replacement bus service was dispatched.
