The collision of cars at the Nymburk bypass was apparently caused by a truck that left the scene

/VIDEO, PHOTO GALLERY/ After Sunday’s dramatic accident in Kostelní Lhota, another ugly-looking collision took place on Monday after 5 p.m. at the approach to the Nymburk bypass near Chvalovice. Although it is clear from the pictures that it was primarily a collision between two passenger vehicles that dented the guardrails, the main culprit should be the truck driver, who did not stay on the spot.

According to information from the police, the truck was just coming out of the side road from Chvalovice to the Nymburk bypass. But he didn’t give preference to a private car driving on the ring road. Its driver swerved to avoid a collision with a truck and crashed into a parked car at the intersection. After the impact, both cars went into the guardrails, which dented them. The truck fled the scene of the accident, and according to the investigation, it is not certain whether he was even aware of the collision behind him. At the same time, according to both car drivers, he was the one to blame for the accident. “We are asking drivers who were passing through the area at the time and saw the situation, or who had on-board cameras on, to report to the police. We are also looking for the driver of the mentioned truck, who did not stay at the scene,” said police spokesman Pavel Truxa.

Although it looks unbelievable when looking at the cars, the whole collision ended up without serious injuries. “One of the drivers has a bruised finger from holding the steering wheel. Otherwise, nothing happened to anyone,” said one of the witnesses at the scene. His words were also confirmed by the police spokesman. “There were no injuries in the incident, the breath tests of both drivers on the spot were negative,” added Truxa.
