Miroslav Imrich died: He jumped under a train because of cancer

--

“It is with great regret that we have to announce that Míra Imrich left the Ordinary World forever this weekend,” sad news appeared on his Facebook on Sunday.

At first, it was speculated that the singer died from Friday to Saturday in the hospital, but according to information from Blesk, he decided to take his own life.

He was supposed to go home from the hospital where he was being treated for terminal cancer. There he wrote a farewell letter and set out for the railway line between Prague’s Uhřínevsá and Kolovraty. His relatives and the police started looking for the singer, but in vain.

“Dozens of police officers were deployed to search for the patient, a helicopter with thermal imaging was also called in,” said their spokesman Richard Hrdina. Unfortunately, Imrich was only found after he died after being hit by a train.

Voice of Abraxas and Tango

In the band Abraxas, Imrich has been singing since 1977. After six years, he left due to disagreements with band leader Slávek Janda.

He founded his own Tango band, which was a great success in Czechoslovakia at the time, but disbanded before the November revolution. Imrich also sang in the metal band Alarm, founded the dance group Imrich Tekknofactory and the group Factory.

He returned to Abraxas in the 90s, when the hits were created Ordinary world and Karel does not take drugs. It was no secret that the singer led a very wild life. Imrich has been performing since 2007 with the revived Tango group. He had several concerts planned with her this year as well.

10 years after Iveta

The singer committed suicide near the place where the singer Iveta Bartošová took her own life on April 29, 2014 (†48). Her memorial stands at the railway station in Uhříněvs, barely a kilometer from the place where Miroslav Imrich also ended his life.
