A mass accident involving five cars closed road No. 4 in Strakonick, a helicopter is flying to the scene

Road I/4 near the village of Rovná in Strakonick was closed by a mass accident involving five cars. There are several injured on the scene, rescuers and an air medical service helicopter are on their way to the accident.

The mass accident happened on Tuesday before 5 p.m. on the I/4 road in Strakonick. Five cars crashed near the village of Rovná. The road is completely closed, traffic restrictions are expected until late in the evening.

“Three ambulances from Strakonice went to the scene and the helicopter of the air rescue service is flying,” informed representatives of the South Bohemian Rescue Service. “We are rescuing one person, the number of injured has not yet been specified,” added the South Bohemian firefighters, who are also responding to the scene.

Paramedics reported that they provided acute immediate care to 5 injured persons. Two of them remained wedged in the car and had to be extricated. “All of the injured suffered mostly moderate injuries in the torso area, with some we do not rule out suspicion of severe injuries either,” informed South Bohemian rescuers.
