In cooperation with the newspaper Sport, the F1sport website went to the Miami Grand Prix again after a year. What interested us?
Even before the F1 cars took to the track in Miami, the paddock was dealing mainly with the newly announced departure of Adrian Newey from Red Bull. Perhaps no discussion was complete without mentioning the name of this statistically most successful constructor in F1 history.
However, there is nothing to be surprised about, as Newey enjoys enormous respect in the F1 paddock. Even Lewis Hamilton, for example, paid him a big tribute. The seven-time world champion said at the official press conference that if he had a list of people from the world of F1 with whom he would like to work, Newey would be at the top.
Even before the start of the official races in Miami, Ferrari also applied for attention, presenting a special “blue” color on Thursday morning.
Ferrari presented itself in Miami with a special livery. But there wasn’t much blue on the car
On Thursday, RB pilot Júki Cunoda gave an exclusive interview to our website and daily Sport, in which he talked about his current excellent form, but also about a possible promotion to Red Bull, for example.
In Miami, we also met with attorney Radek Pokorný, who has been a member of the FIA Ethics Commission since the end of last year. The first Czech in this position described to us what his position entails and at the same time admitted that he was surprised by the volume of cases that he and his colleagues solved in half a year in the position.
Before the interview with us, Júki Cunoda tried American football.
It must be added that he was very good at catching balls
Every year, the F1 race in Florida attracts a large number of well-known personalities from various industries. Former top footballer Zinedine Zidane, singer Ed Sheeran, and even presidential candidate Donald Trump were not missing.
Of all the previous grand prixes in Miami, this year’s was undoubtedly the most interesting.
Donald Trump also visited VC Miami. According to him, he brought luck to the winner Norris
It was certainly helped by the exit of the safety car, which helped Lando Norris to the first win in his career. It was clear in the paddock that almost everyone wished the McLaren driver a victory – when he crossed the imaginary finish line, there was applause in the press center as well, which rarely happens.
Apparently, his colleagues also wished the British competitor a triumph – I write colleagues on purpose and not rivals, as their joy at Norris’s victory seemed really sincere.
This also applies to Max Verstappen. Anyone who would have expected that he would be sulking after the race because he could not bring the well-started race to the winning end, would be wrong.
The Dutchman was in a good mood at the post-race meeting with journalists and entertained everyone present several times. After arriving at the press conference, first unintentionally when he accidentally sat in the winner’s seat, and then with some funny remarks.
