Road I/4 near the village of Rovná in Strakonick was closed on Tuesday afternoon by a mass accident involving five cars. Several people were injured at the scene, and the helicopter of the air medical service had to be involved in the accident.
The mass accident happened on Tuesday before 5 p.m. on the I/4 road in Strakonick. Five cars crashed near the village of Rovná. The road was completely closed until late in the evening.
“Three ambulances from Strakonice went to the scene and the helicopter of the air rescue service is flying,” informed representatives of the South Bohemian Rescue Service. “We are extricating one person,” added the South Bohemian firefighters, who are also responding to the scene.
Paramedics reported that they provided acute immediate care to 5 injured persons. Two of them remained wedged in the car and had to be extricated. “All of the injured suffered mostly moderate injuries in the torso area, with some we do not rule out suspicion of severe injuries either,” informed South Bohemian rescuers.
Another serious accident in Jindřichohradeck
On Tuesday evening, another serious accident happened in the south of Bohemia, near the villages of Mláka and Stará Hlína in the district of Jindřichův Hradec. Rescuers had five people under their care. “Four of them escaped seemingly unharmed, but we took them to the Emergency Department of the hospital in Jindřichov Hradec for follow-up examinations,” the South Bohemian rescuers said.
But the fifth person suffered more serious injuries, was wedged in the car and was unconscious. “Among other things, she was connected to artificial lung ventilation and transported by air with a severe head injury to the ARO hospital in České Budějovice.” the paramedics added.
