Drama in Pardubice. A loose horse ran into the audience and injured a small boy

--

“Please be careful in front of the stands where there is a free horse,” the announcer appealed to everyone present. “Watch out,” he literally yelled after a few seconds.

One of the free horses jumped over the live and classic fences lining the finish line at the Pardubice racecourse and ran into the spectators. They gradually began to dodge and jump, but not all of them managed to do so and a collision occurred. Having his rider still in the saddle, nothing like that would happen.

“He hit the little boy in the head with his hoof. It looked like the kids were chasing each other, or maybe running to their parents. But they were just in the exact place where the free horse was running,” describes one of the witnesses.

People immediately rushed to the place, the boys began to provide first aid and call a doctor. They arrived within a few tens of seconds. The ambulance arrived at the racetrack a few moments later, the paramedics placed the boy on a stretcher and drove away as quickly as possible.

“We immediately sent a passing crew to the scene. We took a small patient with an injury in the upper half of the body to the local hospital,” explains Alena Kisiala, spokesperson for the EMS of the Pardubice Region.

“The boy’s mother also joined him. I hope the boy will be okay, it didn’t look good at all,” adds another witness to the event. The Pardubice Hospital does not comment on information about the health of the injured person, especially with regard to his age, but according to Sport.cz, the boy’s life is out of danger.

It all happened during the Cerea Company Prize. At the moment when the riders and their horses finished the third of the eight races that Wednesday’s Introductory cross country Koroka has on the program. At the same time, the domestic cross country season starts at the Pardubice racetrack with this event.
