The two tycoons called for help in a town called Col Felicit and explained that they could not continue. The Alpine Rescue Service picked them up by helicopter and transported them to Breuil-Cervinia, a mountain resort in the Alps. Here, the couple was arrested by the Guardia di Finanza customs service.
The customs officers identified both climbers because of the non-acute intervention, i.e. the rescue of uninjured persons, and sent a criminal notice for the non-treatment of the victim Giovanni Roteglio.
This is not the first incident of this kind, however, on August 13, a Polish mountain climber was rescued uninjured after climbing in the Pic Tyndall area at 4,241 meters. So the Eastern European climbers who went missing on August 20 applied for help. But when they found it at an altitude of 3,830 meters in the mountain hut of Jean-Antoine Carrel, they called it off.
A group of climbers had to be evacuated from the Testa del Leone mountain even on August 2, when stones and glass fell there. Threats of landslides due to the drought have affected traffic on the Matterhorn throughout the summer. Since the 20th century, because of this risk, italt hort leaders have avoided entering the European summit.
