Netflix movies are like a lottery. And as viewers, we’ve been losing more than winning lately, but hopefully in the coming weeks and months, some good thing will come out that will restore the streaming giant’s reputation. The detective Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the sequel to the very successful Knives, has great ambitions, where Daniel Craig turned into detective Benoit Blanc and searched for the murderer of a famous writer. The sequel, again directed by Rian Johnson, takes us to a Greek island where billionaire Miles Bron has invited his old friends and presumably one of them murdered him.
Bron himself is played by Edward Norton, and Leslie Odom Jr. appears among the suspects. from the musical Hamilton and portrays a scientist who worked for Bron. Kathryn Hahn arrives in Greece as Connecticut politician Claire Debella, who is willing to do anything to get into the Senate. Kate Hudson should be the fashion-obsessed Birdie Jay, accompanied by her assistant Peg played by Jessica Henwick. Next we have Dave Bautista as social media star Duke Cody and he goes to the island with his assistant and girlfriend Whiskey, played by Madelyn Cline. And last but not least, there will be Janelle Monáe as entrepreneur Andi Brand.
So there are fewer suspects than last time, but even if this time they are not members of a rich family, old friends will probably also have a lot of bad blood between them. We’ll find out which one of them kills Edward Norton on December 23rd.
