The accident happened in Sadové Street in Mohelnice on Wednesday in the early evening. A thirty-one-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Aveo car drove too fast when turning from Vodní Street to Sadové Street and partially drove into the opposite direction, where he hit a forty-six-year-old bicyclist on an electric bike.
“After the collision, the cyclist fell on the road. He suffered injuries in the accident, with which he had to be taken to the Šumper hospital for further examination. The breath tests of both participants in the accident had negative results. The driver of the car, however, tested positive for narcotic and psychotropic substances. and that on amphetamine and methamphetamine,” a police spokeswoman confirmed Marie Šafářová.
In addition, during the investigation of the accident, it became clear that the driver does not have a driver’s license and does not hold any driving license.
