President Alberto Fernández called the attack the most serious incident since Argentina restored democracy after a military junta in 1983.

Cristina Fernández de Kirchner he is part of a very influential Argentine political family. Her husband, businessman and politician Néstor Kirchner, led the country as president from 2003–2007. At the end of the election period, he decided not to run again and sent the previous first lady to the election in his place. She became the president herself.

The trained lawyer has already faced criminal prosecution in her previous positions.

“We can disagree, we can have deep disagreements, but hate speech has no place here. Hate breeds violence and there is no chance for violence to coexist with democracy,” President Fernández continued.
