Although they often incur the wrath of customers, in reality Czech suppliers cannot do much about the price of electricity and gas. When these commodities become more expensive on the exchanges, they must gradually buy them for their clients and pass on the price increases to them.

Fixation is salvation

Since September, practically all large suppliers, such as E.ON, Innogy or Pražská plynárenská, have been raising prices. The new prices vary depending on the chosen tariff, but practically all of them are significantly higher.

Innogy raised the price of gas by another 12% and E.ON even by 50%. This will show in the prices, especially if you heat a family house with gas, for example. In that case, you can only wish for a mild winter, but even then the costs will be significant. It is true that this increase is the umpteenth time in a row, and by this amount the prices, which are already really hot, are increasing.

The advantage of large suppliers is at least that they keep fixed prices and do not try any tricks on customers to get out of them. If you fixed the electricity and gas prices for a longer period in the past, you can congratulate yourself. You probably saved hundreds of thousands compared to those who, for example, speculated that prices would drop further and stayed on non-fixed tariffs.

Some people pay

The increased prices thus apply to those whose fixation ends, or who have a tariff that is not fixed. But it also applies to those who connect a new collection point or want to switch from a competitor.

At the same time, these transitions are already quite difficult today, because many suppliers simply do not want new customers. The giant in the form of ČEZ also announced this recently, although it should be a temporary measure during the current large price fluctuations on the market.
