Few people realize that the key to mental and physical freshness can be something as simple as food. But quality food. Andrea Javůrková and her partner Ján Baláž started thinking about it when their son was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. That’s when they discovered that the quality of food is important and crucial for the course of his illness.

Andrea works as a tax consultant, her husband is a pilot. They have a five-year-old son, Andrej, who has an autism spectrum disorder. When doctors diagnosed him with the disorder, they became interested in the quality of food and the connection between the gut, immunity and the brain. “We understood that a suitable diet is the basis of therapy that helps the body do what it does best – heal itself if we create the conditions and environment for it,” says Andrea Javůrková. They started looking for the least processed and toxic-free foods for themselves. They also understood that there is no point in waiting for help from others and that it is better to orientate and act quickly. Because their child was running out of time and the idea of ​​his life being limited by theirs was unbearable.

And the long-distance running began. As parents, they decided that NO and NO is not the answer for them, and they began to study various materials, mainly foreign, and look for a way to find a connection between the occurrence of contemporary civilizational diseases and food. “We discovered how significantly the nutritional value and quality of food has changed worldwide over the past fifty years compared to the previous thousands of years since the beginning of agriculture and the natural evolution of the organism. We gradually found information and connections that we had never seen or known before. We searched the Internet, read several books and watched a lot of videos, attended video conferences in Slovakia, the USA and Germany. And we found a way through a specific diet with the support of minerals and detoxification agents. But we also came across fraudsters here who promised a cure, we changed and adjusted the diet, probiotic and mineral support several times, but they were not discouraged,” Andrea Javůrková tells her own story.

Diet – the basis of therapy

The last two years were a big school in which the couple understood that diet is the basis of therapy not only for their son, but also for other children. “We believe that nature has equipped us with everything we need and that optimal development cannot be achieved in a toxic environment. Our body is affected every day by what we eat. If we talk specifically about autism, most of these children also have some digestive problems and weakened immunity. Either they have long-term diarrhea or problems with excretion, and common diseases stick to them very quickly. Our son suffered from diarrhea, breathing difficulties and was sick every now and then. After applying ‘our’ diet, we haven’t had any diarrhea for at least a year. Illnesses such as colds and colds, which used to last for months, are now gone within two days and their frequency has decreased significantly,” says Andrea. Before the diet, he also had repeated nocturnal episodes of waking up, talking to himself, absent in spirit, and unstoppable. “He’s been sleeping like a baby for the last year and we have to wake him up,” adds the mother. When he started kindergarten years ago, he had to be in a special class, for the last year he has been in a “normal” class without his own assistant. Comprehension and concentration have improved, social interactivity has improved, and he tries to communicate verbally as well.

He started talking this year, and his eye-to-eye looks are rewarding and drive him forward. “He is a happy child,” the parents smile.

Organic is a choice

Andrej’s menu is composed of high-quality ingredients, mainly organic and farm quality, with a low content of pathogens and toxic substances in the form of unnecessary chemicals, preservatives and the like. “In our opinion, such foods are the best investment in a healthy lifestyle. It’s a path to good health without drugs and chemical supplements that don’t solve anything,” says Andrea. They established a store that is only the first step and part of their vision – the Autism project. “We try to find solutions and facilitate the return to normal life for individuals and families with various diagnoses for which current medicine does not offer a solution, such as autism, allergies, ADHD and the like – with food therapy and appropriate mineral support,” enumerates Andrea. “And we also want to be a place where people who live organically and are looking for healthy food will like to go,” he adds. As good parents, they also set an example and consume the same diet that they present to their son. “It needs to be accepted as a lifestyle. My wife wore glasses before applying the diet, now she doesn’t need them (after a year and a half of the diet), she was asthmatic, suffered from atopic eczema for a long time and suddenly everything is gone. Today, concepts such as ‘the gut is our second brain’ or intermittent fasting are already well-known and traceable, and they are becoming more widely known. It is already known that processed foods, antibiotics, genetic modifications are a ticking time bomb. At the same time, nature has its pure products,” says Ján Baláž. And with the application of the autism diet, everyone can start anywhere and now. “Diet is the foundation, but it’s not a comprehensive solution,” say the couple. “We are moving forward, we are patient and every improvement motivates us. We believe that we will successfully reach the destination and the reward and inspiration for us will be that our son will live a full life. And we will be happy to witness other success stories,” say Andrea and Ján.

Autism project

Husband and wife Andrea Javůrková and Ján Baláž founded the project based on their own experience with autism. They want to help families with autistic children to significantly improve their quality of life. It can also help the child’s integration into society and later employment on the labor market. Based on their own story, they offer an initial examination to determine therapy, advice and consultation in the application of diet and cooking from the listed ingredients, as well as the possibility of securing products for a therapeutic plan. They do not offer miracle injections or drugs, but an active path in which the whole family participates.

Sample menu

Breakfast:

Vegetable soup (the base is a vegetable broth cooked from the green stems of various types of vegetables) + coconut oil and sautéed vegetables + mineral support (for example zinc and magnesium on a natural basis).

Snack:

Coconut or almond yogurt.

Lunch:

Salmon soup with vegetables (leek, kohlrabi, carrot) or pumpkin soup with avocado, moussaka (minced duck meat, vegetables and cauliflower puree with coconut milk) + mineral support.
