Prague – Temperatures in the Czech Republic will still reach a summer-like 25 degrees Celsius this week, and it will rain more heavily on Thursday. Before that, meteorologists expect only isolated showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. It’s supposed to cool down a bit over the weekend. Overall, the week will be above average in terms of temperature and precipitation, the third week should be relatively coldest in the period from September 5 to October 2, when the highest temperatures will be around 19 degrees Celsius. It follows from the information on website Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ).
“The temperature in the first week will be above average with minimum night temperatures around 11 degrees Celsius, on Thursday night with heavy clouds around 14 degrees. Maximum daytime temperatures will be around 23 degrees, on Wednesday also 27 degrees and at the weekend only around 19 degrees,” meteorologists said in the long-term weather forecast published today.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the ČHMÚ predicts clear to partly clear, fogs may occasionally appear in the morning. Already on Wednesday, clouds will begin to increase from the west, on Thursday it should be cloudy with rain or showers in most areas, occasional thunderstorms may occur. On Friday, the ČHMÚ expects partly cloudy, partly cloudy to overcast and occasional showers. Temperatures at night between 15 and 11 degrees, during the day up to 25 degrees Celsius. The weekend should be cloudy with some showers. At night, temperatures will drop below 10 degrees Celsius, and the highest daily temperature will reach 20 degrees, according to the forecast.
Precipitation will be above average this week, according to meteorologists, it will be around 18 millimeters in total, and in the following weeks until October 2, it will be around ten millimeters. “The period as a whole will probably be average in terms of precipitation,” said the ČHMÚ.
