And one more important thing: the sum of the potentials does not, by nature, give one hundred percent, on the contrary – it also works with the second and possibly the next choice of the respondents. In other words: if in Brno a voter of the SPOLU coalition lists the People’s Party as their second choice, both of their votes are included in the output. This is also why the potentials of the ODS, which is running together with TOP 09, and the People’s Party, which is going to the elections with the Mayors and independents, are comparable in the Moravian metropolis. The difference in votes that these coalitions actually receive will almost certainly be much larger here.
Prague for TOGETHER
In Prague, the SLOTU coalition consisting of the ODS, People’s Party and TOP 09 clearly has the highest potential. It is already almost clear that it will win the elections in the capital. However, while a few months ago it looked like it would be a forty percent profit, today it seems more like this coalition will be happy for thirty.
In other words: in Prague it is not so much about who wins, but rather with what result and thus with what lead over the other parties. This will fundamentally affect the post-election scenarios and negotiations for a new municipal coalition.
