Album: No Hay Ley single
Fans of Kali Uchis will have a rich Santa this year, as the American singer with Colombian roots is preparing two albums. One will be sung in English, the other in Spanish and should be released by the end of the year. Uchis revealed it at the Latin American Music Grammys this spring, but we didn’t get to see the new material until the end of the summer. The single No Hay Ley is from that Spanish-sung record, which will also be heavily influenced by house music. “It’s a song about love above all else,” Uchis revealed of the news. “In the chorus, I sing that ‘there are no laws for love.’ Be with who you’re happy or happy with and don’t listen to anyone who makes excuses for you because it’s none of their business.” he is Rosalía’s sidekick.

Fletcher – Sting

Album: Girl Of My Dreams
Queer pop is having a strong year, and after years of booming electronic bangers, it’s starting to focus primarily on a more balladic fusion of guitars and synths. A typical example can be the new song Sting by a musician who calls herself Fletcher. After graduating from the music branch of NYU and competing in the first row of the American X Factor, she signed to the major label Capitol, under which she will release her debut album Girl of My Dreams on September 16. “Most of my previous work has focused on other people and my relationships with them – all those who have broken my heart and all the hearts I have broken. Therefore, on my first record, it felt right to immerse myself in the exploration of all the sides of the personality that shape me,” says Fletcher in a press release. We’re adding a candid (and snarky) insight into her life to the Radio Wave playlist before you say ‘Sting’.

Gorillaz – New Gold ft. Tame Impala & Bootie Brown

Album: Cracker Island
The animated avatars from the band Gorillaz announced their eighth album Cracker Island already in July through the single of the same name, on which they are accompanied by the bass demon Thundercat. The album will eventually have ten tracks, will be released on February 24 next year, and will feature guest appearances from American legend Stevie Nicks, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, singer Adeleye Omotayo and Beck. We are choosing to broadcast the second single New Gold from the upcoming collection, in which Bootie Brown from Pharcyde raps over a fat disco-funk beat, while Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) provides the psychedelic chants. Each of the members of the virtual collective attracts the album in a slightly different way: while Murdoc already experiences an almost religious ecstasy (“The sacred tones of Cracker Island will be the soundtrack to our joint entry into a new dimension!”), the more laconic frontman 2D bets on mystery and warns non-swimmers: ” The way to Cracker Island is not easy to find because it is under water.’

Alex Lahey – Congratulations

Album: Congratulations single
Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alex Lahey, known for her pop-punk anti-anthems, first broke through in 2016 with the hit single You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me. This was followed by two albums placed on the ARIA album chart, amassing 50 million streams or a guest appearance on Stephen Colbert’s talk show. After two singles last year and a remake of Faith Hill’s country song This Kiss into punchy power pop, Alex Lahey is now releasing his first self-titled single of the year. It is the track Congratulations soaked in grunge and a significant dose of sarcasm. “Two of my exes got engaged within a suspiciously short time of each other. What is the probability? I couldn’t help but write a song about it,” Lahey says of the inspiration for Congratulations. The novelty is accompanied by a spectacular video clip, which was taken care of by director Jon Danovic, in which Alex Lahey realized her long-planned concept – she kisses herself on camera.

Is Aleš full of evil sarcasm again? Is it related to the fact that he looks like a non-swimmer? Did Filip get at least one sting this summer? And where? Listen to the verbal shootout of the duo Stuchlý-Cerný and you will find out everything.
