They couldn’t be more different. Who are the women who might take the place of first lady of the Czech Republic? Look at the portraits of Eva Pavlova (58) and Monika Babišová (48). On the one hand, Eva Pavlová, a retired lieutenant colonel who does not enjoy glitzy parties, on the other, Monika Babišová, currently one of the owners of Agrofert and a loyal supporter of her husband. Ms. Pavlova gave an interview to eXtra.cz.

Eva Pavlova

Fifty-eight-year-old Eva Pavlová is the wife of Petr Pavl and an army lieutenant colonel in the reserve. He comes from Šumperk. At the gymnasium in her hometown, she played a lot of sports, one of her favorite disciplines was shooting. She graduated in 1983 and then spent a year at the Women’s Military Vocational School at the High Military Aviation School in Košice.

Between 1986 and 1990, she studied at the Military Pedagogical School in Bratislava. As a lieutenant colonel, she also helped her future husband at the General Staff, where she held the position of communicator with foreign military and air force attachés, and as a result of this position, she ensured, among other things, military visits. She ended the employment relationship because of her husband’s mission, and subsequently they moved to Brussels. After returning, she devoted herself to her family, then she suffered from cancer.

Eva Pavlova stands firmly by her husband Petr Pavlova, even though it was clear that she likes her peace, privacy and the media carousel is sometimes a bit too much for her, she patiently answers questions and behaves as one would expect from a future first lady.

From the beginning, I thought I didn’t know if I should go for it, because it’s a lot of work and we went through it several times. But when we drove around the meetings and I saw the support of the people, I thought that this could be his last mission for this country,Pavlová said in an interview with eXtra.cz about her husband’s candidacy.

Monika Babišová

Monica Babišová, wife of Andrej Babiš, is 48 years old. She met her future husband in 1992, at that time they both had two other partners. At that time, she joined the company Lovochemie as a secretary. Babišová, née Herodesová, married her then-boyfriend at the age of 19, but divorced two years later.

She then established a partnership with Andrej Babiš, who was one of the directors at Lovochemia. Two children were born into this relationship, daughter Vivien and son Frederik Babiš. Herodesová took the surname Babišová in 2013, and they were married on July 29, 2017.

Monika Babišová is mainly engaged in charitable activities, she is the owner of part of the Agrofert holding, which belonged to Andrej Babiš. She also works on interior design, her foundation and accompanies her husband on foreign trips. She does not like to appear in public, so interviews with her are rather exceptional.

People noticed that she did not look enthusiastic when announcing Babiš’s candidacy: “It was a serious situation for me, and it didn’t feel right to laugh about it. I also don’t like being the center of attention, for a long time I was quite stressed about it. The whole time I was actually just trying to concentrate on what Andrej was saying.
