Failure? Zelenskyi, on the other hand, found success that is said to be unknown

--

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to his fellow citizens again. He described the situation in the Black Sea and emphasized that the weaker Russia is in the Black Sea, the safer the whole world will be.

“During the full-scale war, we proved that when Ukraine, together with its partners, restores the security of the Black Sea, the world will reap dividends from greater security for other regions. This ranges from food security to social security, as the stability of the food market affects the political stability of many countries in the complicated African and Asian regions. It is very important that, thanks to Ukrainian courage, we practically push the Russian fleet out of the eastern part of the Black Sea – Russia cannot use our sea to extend its aggression to other parts of the world, as it has done with Syria. When Russia created a humanitarian disaster in Syria, it used the Black Sea as its base and later our Crimea as a base for Russian military operations. Now the situation has changed. It has fundamentally changed,” the Ukrainian president told fellow citizens.

He stated that he had spoken with the commanders of all operational directions and with the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and thanked all the soldiers, whether at Avdijivka or elsewhere, for the work they are doing. He then returned to the situation in the Black Sea.

“Today I held a special ceremony of awarding state decorations to our soldiers who are strengthening Ukrainian power in the battle at sea. Navy and Border Patrol soldiers who defend our waters. Defense Intelligence and Security Service Soldiers. The engineers who build our new weapons – our naval drones – and make them work. They are all guys who cannot be seen in public and whose names cannot be linked to specific events. For now, as long as the war continues. But he really deserves the gratitude of the state and the people. I thanked them on behalf of all Ukrainians,” Zelensky emphasized.

He promised that Ukraine would really do everything to preserve its independence. He thus confirmed what Time magazine had already written about, namely that he unwaveringly believes in the final victory of Ukraine despite any difficulties.

“The modern world quickly gets used to success. When the all-out aggression began, many around the world expected Ukraine not to resist. The incredible things that our people, our soldiers do, are now taken for granted. Ukraine’s success in the Battle of the Black Sea is one that will be in the history books, although it is not often talked about now. But… Whatever it is, we must do our part – protect our country, Ukrainian independence, our lives, our culture, Ukrainian freedom. And we will protect it!” emphasized Zelensky.

As for the already mentioned Time magazine articlejournalist Simon Schuster described Zelensky in it as a person who is disappointed that his partners, especially the West, do not support him more, but he personally believes all the more in the victory of Ukraine in the fight against the Russian aggressors.

And here was the problem.

“He’s lying to himself. Our options are exhausted, we are not winning, but someone try to tell him,” one of Zelensky’s associates told Schuster.

It is said that Zelensky also hoped that he would be able to effectively deal with corruption in Ukraine, but as time goes on, he finds that it is not going as well as he probably would have liked.

The newspaper N drew attention with reference to other sourcesthat Schuster wrote a lot during his journalistic career, and although he closely follows the post-Soviet space, he was not always right in his estimations.

“However, critics of the article point out that he does not always manage to correctly assess the situation. In late February 2014, for example, Schuster wrote that it was unlikely that Putin would respond to the overthrow of pro-Russian President Yanukovych by invading Crimea. A few days later, unmarked Russian soldiers began occupying the Ukrainian peninsula. It is not even excluded that the willingness of some people to comment critically on the article may also be related to their own powerful interests – including an attempt to weaken the position of the president in this way,” wrote Deník N.
