One of the mothers of the children abducted by the Palestinian radical Islamist movement Hamas to the Gaza Strip on October 7 called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden to bring her daughters home to her on social media. If these senior politicians are unable to do so, she wants to be sent to Gaza to see her children. Haaretz reported about it today.
“My daughters, Dafna and Ella, who are 15 and eight, are being held by Hamas in Gaza. They are there alone without their family after seeing their father brutally murdered. Thirty days have passed since they were kidnapped,” said Maajan Zinová in an emotional video published on the X network. “I am calling on the President of the United States Joe Biden and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, if you cannot bring my daughters home, I am asking you to take me there right after them,” the mother of the kidnapped girls also said.
The video on the network has received a million views, Haarec newspaper reported. On Monday, however, Zinová added that she does not need viewing, that she just wants her children to return home.
Hamas militants kidnapped over 240 people from the Israeli border on October 7, including more than three dozen children. Dafna and Ella were that day at Kibbutz Nahal Oz, near the Gaza Strip, visiting their father, who lived there with his new partner and her seventeen-year-old son. A father with his girlfriend and her son were murdered by Hamas in a kibbutz, as well as hundreds of other civilians, including small children. In total, Hamas killed 1,400 people in southern Israel on October 7.
Some of the hostages that Hamas took to Gaza may no longer be alive. In retaliation for the October 7 attack, Israel has been massively bombing the Gaza Strip ever since with the aim of destroying the military infrastructure of Hamas, which has ruled there since 2007. According to the Palestinian authorities, over 10,000 people died during this shelling.
