The police arrested two young suspects who pulled a gun on a teacher at a school in Hamburg

Panic was unleashed at a district school in Hamburg’s Blankenese district by a pair of students who pulled a gun on a teacher in one of the classrooms on Wednesday morning. The police immediately started looking for the boys who ran away from the class shortly after that. The suspected youths were caught a few hours later after another incident was reported near another school just a few kilometers away. The police found a toy gun on one of them.

​Two young men at a school in the Hamburg suburb of Blankenes pulled out a gun on one of the teachers and, according to some testimonies, even threatened the teacher with it. But they ran away from the classroom right after that, writes the Merkur portal.

Shortly after the incident was reported, the school was surrounded by police and the students were evacuated. Special units of the State Criminal Investigation Office (LKA 24) then searched the school building and classrooms, but did not find any suspects. According to the newspaper Bild, they were looking for two boys between the ages of 12 and 16. They were supposed to be carrying a black pistol.

In addition to several ambulances, psychologists were also on hand to help the students cope with the situation. The school in Blankenes has over a thousand students and 120 teachers. Around 400 police officers were deployed in connection with the police action at the school in the Blankenese district.

A few hours after the alarm, the police received a report of another incident, this time near an elementary school in Bahrenfeld, a few kilometers from Blankenes. Plainclothes policemen managed to arrest four minors aged 12, 12, 13 and 14 on the spot. According to the investigators, two of them (12 and 13 years old) may have been responsible for the incident at the district school in Blankenes. One of them was carrying a black toy gun.
