Greek actor Spiros Focás died at the age of 86. The wife announced the sad news. Fans may remember him, for example, from the third part of the legendary Rambo or from the film Hunt for the Jewel of the Nile.
Focás died on Friday, November 10. According to the Greek portal Naftemporiki, the actor was struggling with serious health problems. His wife announced the sad news on Facebook. “Goodbye my Spiros,” she captioned the post.
Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni also paid tribute to the deceased. “It is with sadness that we say goodbye to the actor Spiros Focás, one of the most famous and popular actors, with an important film career in Greece and abroad,” the condolence read.
Focás was born in the Greek city of Patras in 1937. At the age of 22, he appeared in the film Bloody Sunset. It was even screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
During his career, Focás starred in more than 30 films, mostly Italian or American. Fans may remember him for example as an Afghan Mujahideen fighter in Rambo III (1988), he also portrayed the villain Omar in The Hunt for the Jewel of the Nile (1985), where he starred alongside Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito.

The actor was married four times. He had his first marriage at the age of 21 and his last at 76. However, he had no children. According to the Iefimerida portal, he always claimed that he didn’t like the world he lived in, and that’s why he didn’t want to bring descendants into it.
