Mohn drove off in a car registered to his father shortly after the murder. Thanks to a mobile phone signal, the police managed to locate him approximately 150 kilometers from the family’s place of residence, where they also found the stolen vehicle. The suspect is currently being held without bail, writes the NBC News website. According to the court file, Mohn was charged with murder and abuse of the victim’s body.
The suspect’s mother, Denice Mohnová, found her husband’s body around 19:00 on Tuesday (01:00 Wednesday morning CET) and immediately called the police. When patrol arrived at the home, they found the headless body of 68-year-old Michael Mohn in the downstairs bathroom, with “a large amount of blood around him.” Police found a machete and a large kitchen knife in the bathtub.
Police found the head in a plastic bag in a cooking pot in the bedroom next to the bathroom. She subsequently discovered transparent rubber gloves in the next room.
The suspect’s mother said she left the house around 14:00 (20:00 CET) on Tuesday and that the son was the only one who stayed home with his father. When she returned in the evening, the son was no longer at home and the car registered to her husband, which was parked at the house when she left, was also missing.
Police later located the vehicle near the Fort Indiantown Gap military area outside Harrisburg, where the US National Guard training facility is located.
“We didn’t know where he was going or what his intentions were,” said Middletown Police Capt. Pete Feeney. “Fortunately, we were able to locate him from his mobile phone,” he added.
According to the police, the suspect got out of the car and crossed the fence into the military area, where the National Guard and the police searched for him. On Tuesday around 21:25 (Wednesday 03:25 in the morning CET) they managed to catch the perpetrator. According to police, he was carrying a gun.
Video on YouTube
Shortly after the murder, the 32-year-old suspect posted a video on YouTube under the title “Mohn’s Militia – Call To Arms For American Patriots”.
“My father is now in hell forever as a traitor to his country,” Mohn said in the video. “It is said that those who commit treason and betray others will forever occupy the lowest places in hell,” he added.
In the video, Mohn was said to be wearing gloves that were very similar to the ones police found at the crime scene. He was supposed to be holding his father’s severed head in a plastic bag, which is later seen in a cooking pot in other parts of the video.

In the video, the suspect allegedly claimed that his father was a federal employee for 20 years, calling him a “traitor,” and called for the death of all federal officials as well as members of the Biden administration, Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ community, and Antifa activists.
The YouTube platform removed the video after a few hours and disabled Mohn’s channel.
Justin Mohn has filed at least three lawsuits in the past against federal authorities, including the US government. In them, he alleges that the authorities’ negligence caused him to take out student loans between 2010 and his graduation from Pennsylvania State University in 2014.
But the judge dismissed the lawsuit, calling it “speculative and without a factual basis.” He further stated that Mohn’s complaints are “inaccurate allegations of a disappointed college graduate”.

In this book, he also printed a letter he sent to then-President Donald Trump, in which he warns that if “positive change does not take place in America and the world soon”, there will be a “peaceful revolution”, which the author himself, i.e. Justin Mohn, “will help lead”.
