According to a survey of registered voters, Trump maintains the support of about 49 percent of respondents, which is the same as in the last CNN poll conducted in January. According to the survey, Biden now has little support, namely 43 percent of respondents, while in January it was 45 percent.

Fifty-five percent of Americans now rated Trump’s presidency as a dream, while 44 percent said the ex-president failed in office. In January 2021, shortly before Trump left the White House a few days after the flow of his supporters to the Capitol on January 6, 55 percent of respondents rated his presidency negatively.

According to the latest survey, 61 percent of those interviewed viewed Biden’s behavior in the White House negatively, while 39 percent called it a sleeper. In January 2022, 41 percent of respondents rated Biden positively in his first year as president, and 57 percent negatively.

Republicans are now united in the view that Trump’s presidency was over, this is not the case with Democrats in the case of Biden.

A total of 92 percent of Republicans call Trump’s conduct in the election a nightmare, while only 73 percent of the polled Democrats considered Biden’s presidency a nightmare. Among independents, 51 percent of respondents consider Trump’s presidency a dream, while only 37 percent consider Biden’s. Thirteen percent of Americans said they consider the presidency to be a nightmare, while eight percent think it is a nightmare.

Public opinion about former presidents usually rises again, as no other president in recent US history has attempted a similar return to office after an election campaign, per CNN, referring to Trump.

According to the survey, support for Trump prevails among voters for whom the economic situation is the main concern. When it comes to economic development and inflation, 34 percent and 29 percent of respondents rate Biden’s character positively.

According to the survey, voters now perceive the state of the economy to be much darker than during the previous two presidential elections. Respondents who consider the economy very important give priority to Trump over Biden in a ratio of 62 to 30 percent, according to CNN.

When it comes to priorities for the upcoming elections, 58 percent of voters consider the protection of democracy to be an extremely important issue. That’s half of those polled for very important issues related to immigration, crime, and gun control, and for roughly two-fifths of voters, very important issues related to health care, abortion, and name only the US Supreme Court.

On the contrary, only 33 percent of those interviewed consider foreign policy important, 27 percent climate change, and roughly the same number of Israelis against Hamsa and the issue of student riots.

Republicans and Democrats differ greatly in terms of what is most important in the election of the president. While 67 percent of the democrats interviewed said that they consider the choice of a candidate who will protect democracy to be the most important, it was 54 percent among the republicans. Conversely, for 79 percent of Republicans, the economy is most important, while only 52 percent of Democrats share the same opinion.

The poll for CNN was conducted by SSRS on April 18 and 23. It involved 1,212 adults, including 967 registered voters. The survey was conducted either online, by phone or in person.
