Police are looking for two suspects who are on the run. According to her, they are armed and dangerous.
Saskatchewan Provincial Police Deputy Chief Rhonda Blackmore said the dead and injured were found at a total of 13 different locations in the rural area northeast of Saskatoon. According to her, the attackers targeted some on purpose, while others apparently became accidental victims. The motive for the attack is not yet known.
“The suspects are on the run, we have decided to extend the alert to (the provinces of) Manitoba and Alberta,” police said in a statement. She especially warned residents of towns where, according to witnesses, the attackers were moving. Regina, the capital of Saskatchewan province, is one of them.
“If you’re in the Regina area, be careful and consider sheltering in place. Do not leave safe places. Do not approach suspicious persons. Don’t take the tracker,” police said on Twitter. She also published photos of the suspects – Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson.
