The new police ATVs have special equipment including a front and rear frame, a winch, a color design with blue reflective elements, flashing lights and warning signs. One of the four-wheelers is also equipped with a variable mechanical blade.
“It’s a practical thing. A quad bike with a plow can be used both for cleaning snow and for removing deposits of mud. That’s why, in addition to the normal performance of the service, it is also suitable for dealing with extraordinary events, such as floods or other natural disasters,” explains the commander of the Plzeň Municipal Police, Petr Nováček, adding that ten policemen are now riding the service four-wheelers. “However, we would like to increase their number by at least two. We also have one woman among the new adepts, who will soon complete the skill and skill training rides,” adds Nováček.
