Few people can imagine what the woman from Klatovsk was going through. She was beaten, vulgarly insulted, constantly checked. The horror and suffering lasted a year and a half. The woman’s partner, who was supposed to have committed it, will soon appear before the Klato court.

“I can confirm that an indictment has been filed, for the crime of abusing a person living in a shared dwelling,” Klatovsk District Attorney Petra Švecová confirmed to Deník. If found guilty, the 33-year-old man could be imprisoned for up to eight years.

Švecová did not provide more detailed information about the case, but according to Deník’s findings, the domestic violence took place in different places, not only in the apartment that they both shared with her children. The man allegedly tortured or insulted his partner during car rides and also during visits to her place at work, of course when her colleagues were not present.

Summer in Klatovsk will be full of festivals and concerts, legends will go there

“The defendant beat his girlfriend several times a month. He beat her mostly with his fists, in the head, hands and feet. When she fell, he kicked her. He also strangled her, pulled her hair or squeezed her face,” described a source familiar with the case. The man, whose face and name cannot be published by law, was also said to have abused his partner, using very vulgar words. She was not allowed to decide on anything, she had to consult him on everything. He was constantly checking her, watching who she was texting and calling on her cell phone. She could only go out with him and then she was not allowed to leave him.

It all culminated in a brutal attack that alerted the neighbors and after which the woman had to be treated in hospital and was then unable to work. She suffered much worse wounds on her mind than on her body. According to forensic experts, she developed a mental disorder, manifested by phobias and depression.

According to Deník’s information, the man admitted during his statements to the police that cohabitation was not ideal, but denied that he abused his partner.
