The letter of the owner of the hardware store Ladislav Rott from 1898, addressed to the city council of the royal capital of Prague, is considered to be the first appeal to build the Prague underground railway. Although the well-known Prague businessman was not a technician, he proposed quite comprehensively where an underground railway could be established in the city center.
By the way, the subway was not such an unknown concept at that time. For example, London has operated an underground railway for thirty-five years. The metropolis of the British Empire gradually expanded its network undergroundwhich then became a model for solving traffic problems in other agglomerations that dreamed of similar glory and brilliance.
