How could this car even be made today? The monstrous Jaguar-based GT gets a giant twelve-cylinder and a manual

--

Have you ever thought that the world will only be flooded with electric cars as part of the news? Anyway, in this transitional period, another car appeared, which in the context of today’s times is considered vulgar.

The Grand Tourer TWR Supercat is based on the iconic Jaguar XJS, however it will offer, for example, a carbon fiber body shell inspired by the history of TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) racing cars. Historically, they also won Le Mans and the 24-hour race in Spa, but the team also participated in the Formula 1 series.

The TWR Supercat is based on the Jaguar XJS.

References to the Jaguar XJR-9, XJR-12 or the legendary XJ220 supersport can be found on the vehicle. And the Supercat’s powertrain corresponds to that.

It will be an as-yet unspecified, but certainly gasoline-powered turbocharged 12-cylinder engine with an output of over 600 horsepower. The transmission will then be manual, six-speed, sending torque to the rear wheels.

The displacement of the V12 engine has not been disclosed, but we expect something massive.

Thanks to the use of lightweight materials, the model promises agility and analog steering, plus it should indicate the direction Tom Walkinshaw Racing will take in the future.

Were you tempted by Supercat? So prepare eight million crowns with British value added tax and be quick, because the capacity is limited to 88 pieces of these monstrous grand tourers, which, by the way, is a reference to the year 1988, when the TWR stable won the aforementioned Le Mans. We will learn more at the end of this year, when the car will make its dynamic debut.
