The unique film show Cinema on the Border, which combines the best of Czech, Polish and Slovak cinematography in several theaters in Český Těšín and Polish Těšín, will today present real gems of recent times.

“At noon, the film Silent Secret is shown in the Piast cinema,” recommends the film, a member of the organizing team, Martin Novosad. The film directed by Tomáš Mašín tells the story of veterinarian Martin and his wife, who lead a seemingly happy life. One day, Martin suffers a serious injury that arouses suspicion. The police will start an investigation. The detective story turns into a psychological drama about relationships, traumas and mutual lies.

Fifteen minutes after 5:00 p.m., Agnieszka Holland’s award-winning film Hranice will be shown in the Centra cinema. “During a routine border check, customs officials discover a group of illegal immigrants in a van. One boy manages to escape and hide in a nearby forest. While the search is underway, the immigrants are held in a makeshift prison. The situation escalates and customs officials treat the incoming the more aggressively.”

If you want to save the movie experience for the evening, you might like the screening of the Czech sci-fi film Bod obnovy at 9:30 in the evening again at the Central cinema. “We are in the year 2041. Each person can periodically create backups of their personality, thanks to which they can be restored and revived should they perish in an accident or other unnatural death. However, one day a crime occurs in which the victim’s recovery data file is deleted . Agent Em tries to solve the case,” reads the film’s synopsis.

The literary program continues again in the Avion cafe, at 2 p.m. there is a discussion on Kafka’s nightmare. It is moderated by Petr Vlček and Wojciech Bonowicz, the participants are creators Grzegorz Jankowicz, Radka Denemarková, Martin M. Šimečka and Gábor T. Szántó.

The evening will end with a musical production by the Kraków singer and lyricist Grzegorz Wardęga, who calls himself Runforest.
