Another iconic singer whose life ends at just 27 years old is Kurt Cobainthe founder and frontman of the band Nirvana as well as the author of most of the songs of the band he founded in 1987. His childhood is not very happy.
When he is nine years old, his parents divorce and he then spends time traveling from his mother to his father and vice versa. Therefore, he begins to hate his parents, especially his father. He has also been very thin since childhood, which is due to the long-term use of the anti-hyperactivity drug Ritalin.
He also suffers from bipolar affective disorder, in which states of depression and mania alternate.
Fame, marriage, daughter and drugs
His uncle introduces him to music, who introduces Kurt to the hits of Black Sabbath, Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin.
Cobain’s Nirvana will become famous with the second album called Nevermind, released in 1991. At the age of 25, on February 24, 1992, Kurt Cobain marries a singer in Waikiki, Hawaii Courtney Love from the Hole group.
In August of the same year, their daughter was born Frances Bean Cobain. Kurt is hospitalized several times due to severe heroin addiction, which Courtney Love also suffers from.
Suicide or murder?
Drug addiction, depression, disagreements with his wife, and a stomach ailment that doctors are unable to name, let alone treat, lead Cobain to the point where he no longer wants to live. On April 5, 1994, he therefore took his own life.
Two days later, an electrician finds him dead in the garage of his house. Cobain has a shotgun wound to the head and a fatal dose of heroin in his blood.
Although a farewell letter to his wife and daughter, addressed to an imaginary childhood friend Boddah, lies near his body, the singer’s suicide is questioned.
Wife accused of murder
He allegedly could not have been able to put the drug paraphernalia in a box, pick up the shotgun and point it at himself after administering a fatal dose of heroin. His wife is most often accused of the singer’s murder.
Her motive for the act was supposed to be a divorce, which Kurt allegedly wanted to ask for. She, on the other hand, claims that her husband confided to her shortly before his suicide that he no longer wanted to be part of the Nirvana group. There are many speculations about the singer’s suicide to this day.
