Sharp Kia EV9 GT arrives next year, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds

--

A few days ago, the Kia car company published a recording of the Investor Day event, during which it offered a behind-the-scenes look at the brand’s plans for the coming years. In addition, Ho Sung Song, president and head of the brand, revealed the new top version of the large family SUV model Kia EV9.

The new model, whose premiere is scheduled for January 2025, will traditionally be called the EV9 GT and promises, among other things, “enormous performance”. The car will offer a pair of boosted electric motors driving all wheels, but their performance has not yet been specified.

However, the result should be acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds, which is a great time for a similarly sized SUV with relatively angular shapes.

In addition, in the presentation, the image of which was published by the website Motor1, we see a mention of an improved chassis and reinforced brakes, thanks to which the car should offer high stability and driving performance even at higher speeds.

The question remains whether the powerful GT version will also offer a more powerful battery. If the model were to remain with the existing battery with a usable capacity of 99.8 kWh, the range would probably be noticeably shortened from the currently promised 505 kilometers.

In addition to the EV9 model, the smaller EV6 model was discussed during the presentation, the modernized version of which should head to the markets in the second quarter of this year. The improved EV6 GT flagship model is then expected on the markets during the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year. In addition, the Kia Sportage SUV is expected to be upgraded in the last quarter.
