The compact electric car Kia EV3 reveals the shapes in production form

Kia’s range of all-electric SUVs will soon be expanded by another model that follows the Kia EV9 flagship electric SUV. The new Kia EV3, whose production images have now been published by the automaker, represents a compact SUV model that aims to make electric mobility more affordable.

Similar to the Kia EV9 and the smaller EV5, the EV3, with its details revealed so far, strongly refers to the concept presented at the end of last year. The designers were again based on the philosophy of “Connected opposites” and bet on a distinctive, geometric and robust style.

The first previews of the production model reveal a look at the front and rear lights with a characteristic sharply cut light signature, similar to the EV9. We still have to wait for samples of the cabin, but we can expect Kia to keep the physical controls as well.

The technical basis of the car should again be the E-GMP platform, but instead of the 800V architecture used in the EV6 and EV9 models, a more affordable 400V system is expected. The basic model will probably offer one electric motor, with higher versions two electric motors can be expected, as the brand also promises impressive performance.

The global premiere of the new Kia EV3 is scheduled for May 23 from 12:00 p.m. and will also be available to watch live via the brand’s YouTube channel.
