Fio banka joined the system of immediate payments in EUR. Sending and receiving them is free. Instant payment is possible with banks that also support these payments, i.e. not only those in Slovakia, but also throughout Europe.

As an immediate one, it is possible to send a one-time payment in euros in a volume of up to €4,000. The total daily limit for each client is €16,000.

The payment is delivered in a matter of seconds, even at night, on weekends or public holidays.

A list of all banks involved in the TIPS system is available on the website of the European Central Bank. Oberbank and J&T Banka introduced immediate euro payments in the country.

The European Commission came up with a proposal for banks to start transferring SEPA payments as a matter of urgency as early as 2022. The obligation should not only apply to banks in the eurozone, but also to other banks in EU member states that have their own currency. However, the amendment to the SEPA regulation has not yet definitively introduced this obligation.

It therefore applies that banks must ensure the crediting of a standard SEPA payment in the D+1 mode. Money sent on a working day must be credited to the recipient’s account by the next working day. However, weekends or holidays may delay the transfer.
