At the beginning of this week, it will cool down to 13 degrees Celsius in Prague, but then the temperatures will gradually rise to 27 degrees. There will be rain and thunderstorms for most of the week.

In the previous week, temperatures reached over 24 degrees in some places and temperature records were broken. Even today, the highest daily temperatures will be between 17 and 21 degrees and will reach 24 degrees in the east. At the same time, however, the sky will become cloudy during the day and thunderstorms will probably appear in the afternoon.

“During this afternoon and early evening, thunderstorms may occur in the eastern half of Bohemia – especially Vysočina, eastern Bohemia and the border area with Moravia,” meteorologists on the X network announced today. In the evening, storms may also appear in Moravia and Silesia.

On Tuesday, it will cool significantly to 13 to 15 degrees. In most of the territory of the Czech Republic there will be showers, which may be mixed or snowy in locations above 1200 meters above sea level.

The weather will be similar on Wednesday, but temperatures will start to rise again. Thursday and Friday will continue to have scattered showers and cloudy skies. However, temperatures rise to 18 degrees on Thursday and up to 21 degrees on Friday.

The weekend will initially be partly cloudy with temperatures reaching 21 to 25 degrees on Saturday. On Sunday, it will be up to 27 degrees in places, especially in Bohemia. Cloudiness will gradually increase from the west and rain and thunderstorms will appear.

Temperatures in the Czech Republic will most likely be above average for the rest of April. This follows from the monthly weather forecast published today by the ČHMÚ. “Temporarily, especially around April 7, air temperatures can be extremely above average,” the meteorologists added. Only in the week between April 22 and 28 will the temperatures gradually drop to values that correspond to the long-term average for this period.
