ZLÍNSKÝ KRAJ: The police revealed more than two hundred traffic violations.
Several dozen policemen actively participated in the nationwide traffic safety event, which also took place in the Zlín region during the extended Easter weekend (Traffic safety event during Easter – Police of the Czech Republic). They gradually checked more than 1,600 vehicles and discovered 224 traffic violations. The most frequent cases involved exceeding the maximum permitted speed (68 offences) and inadequate technical condition of vehicles (68 offences). At the same time, police patrols in the Zlín region discovered 18 drivers under the influence of alcohol and another 2 drivers under the influence of other addictive substances. Three drivers are suspected of committing the crime of endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance due to driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver of a car that the police stopped on Monday evening in Vsetín inhaled the most of them. A forty-four-year-old man breathed 2.96 parts per million of alcohol during a roadside check.
